There are some tips you can try if you want to conceive a girl.
Have gentle sex.
Shallow penetration such as the missionary position is more likely to deposit the sperm closer to the entrance of the vagina which is more acidic than the area near the cervix. The acidity will weaken the Y sperm while allowing more X sperm available for egg fertilization.
After orgasm your body produces a substance that make the vagina more alkaline, which favours the Y sperm. Also, the contractions produced during an orgasm will help the Y sperm move up into the cervix.
Monitor the frequency and timing of intercourse.
Having intercourse further away from ovulation (2-4 days) will favour the slower moving X sperm. Please ask Dr Saba about timing your ovulation.
Eat plenty of calcium and magnesium.
Diets rich in calcium and magnesium may increase the alkalinity of the mother, which may not be as hospitable for male sperm. For a few weeks before conception, eat nuts, beans, vegetables, yogurt, tofu and oatmeal.
Avoid salt and potassium.
They may create hostile environments for girl sperm. Foods rich in salt and potassium include: anchovies, smoked salmon, shrimp, bacon, salami, processed meats, pastries, olives and potatoes.
Gender selection methods are not 100 per cent reliable.
